Real Results from Real Businesses

These businesses used our calculator to estimate their impact -- then made the switch and exceeded expectations.

Midwest Auto Parts Manufacturer

Estimated $150K savings
Actual: $180K savings in Year 1

The calculator was actually conservative. Our real-world savings exceeded the estimate by 20%.

Southeast Food Distributor

Estimated 800 totes diverted/month
Actual: 950 totes diverted/month

Once we started the program, we found even more totes that could be reconditioned than we originally thought.

Texas Agricultural Co-op

Estimated 45% IBC tote cost reduction
Actual: 48% cost reduction achieved

The calculator gave us the data we needed to convince our board. Switching to recycled IBC totes for our irrigation and fertilizer operations was the right call.

Expert Advice

Tips for Maximizing Your Eco Impact

Whether you are just getting started or looking to optimize your existing program, these strategies will help you get the most environmental and financial value from recycled containers.

1

Start with a Waste Audit

Before switching to recycled containers, conduct a thorough audit of your current container usage, disposal patterns, and costs. Knowing your baseline makes it easy to measure progress and identify the highest-impact areas to target first.

2

Standardize Your Container Fleet

Using a mix of container sizes and types creates inefficiency. Work with our team to identify the optimal container configurations for your operation, then standardize. This reduces waste, improves stacking, and simplifies reordering.

3

Implement a Buyback Program

Do not just buy recycled containers -- sell your used ones back to us. Our buyback program turns your end-of-life containers into revenue rather than disposal costs, creating a true closed-loop system.

4

Track and Report Your Impact

Use our quarterly sustainability reports to track your progress over time. Share these numbers with stakeholders, include them in ESG disclosures, and use them in marketing to demonstrate your commitment to sustainability.

5

Scale Gradually

You do not have to switch 100% of your containers overnight. Start with one product line or facility, prove the concept, and then expand. Many of our largest accounts started with a small pilot program.

6

Engage Your Entire Team

The most successful programs have buy-in from the warehouse floor to the C-suite. Educate your team about the environmental impact of container reuse and celebrate milestones like total waste diverted or dollars saved.

How We Calculate Impact

Our calculations are based on published research, EPA data, and real-world measurements from our own operations.

Trees Saved

Based on the raw materials required to manufacture new IBC totes and tanks. Reusing each container avoids the need for virgin plastic, steel, and wood resources that would otherwise be consumed in new production.

CO2 & Energy

Manufacturing new IBC totes and tanks requires significant energy and produces greenhouse gas emissions. Our CO2 and energy savings are calculated by comparing the full lifecycle emissions of new production vs. reconditioning, using EPA emission factors for HDPE, steel, and composite materials.

Cost Savings

Cost estimates are based on average market prices for new vs. recycled containers across our product categories. Actual savings depend on volume, condition grade, and shipping distance. Contact us for a precise quote tailored to your specific needs and location.

Waste Diverted

Weight estimates use industry-standard averages: IBC totes at 70-135 lbs and IBC tanks at 150-300 lbs depending on material and capacity. Each reused container directly reduces landfill-bound waste by its full weight.

Water Savings

New IBC tote and tank production is water-intensive, especially for HDPE and steel components. Water savings reflect the difference between virgin manufacturing water usage and the minimal water required for cleaning and reconditioning existing containers.

Source & Industry Factors

If you currently buy all new containers, switching to recycled delivers maximum impact. If you already use a mix, the incremental gains are smaller. Industry-specific adjustments account for differences in container usage patterns, handling requirements, and typical reuse cycles across sectors.

Disclaimer: These calculations are estimates based on industry averages and published research. Actual results will vary based on container condition, shipping distances, regional factors, and operational specifics. Contact us for a detailed, customized assessment tailored to your business.
